Students for Co-operation Holds Founding Conference

The Students For Co-operation Founding Conference brought together, for the first time delegates from across the country to discuss the direction of the new organisation, get to know each other, and participate in a whole host of valuable and in depth workshops.

Modelled on the NASCO Institute which occurs every year in Ann Arbor Michigan, participants were able to take a full days financial literacy crash course, ate vegan meals served up by the fantastic Veggies Catering Campaign and heard a brilliant key talk by Emily Lippold Cheney founder of the Co-operative Youth Council USA. Around 65 students attended the conference, held at the University of Birmingham, Guild of Students from co-ops as distant as Aberdeen, Lancaster and Sussex.
